December 7, 2016 marks the 75th anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor that brought the United States into World War II.  It also begins a series of commemorations of events over the course of four years of war, culminating with the 75th anniversary of the end of the war in August of 2020.  These events are being coordinated by the Spirit of ’45 organization.
Of the 16 million Americans who served in the Armed Forces of the United States, only about 250,000 served in the far-off China-Burma-India Theater, "Twelve Thousand Miles from Main Street, U.S.A."  As part of the Spirit of ’45 commemorations, this site will honor the service of those men and women of the CBI Theater.  The first significant event for the CBI Theater was its formation on June 22, 1942.
You can participate by submitting a wartime photo of a relative or friend who served in the China-Burma-India Theater, and by spreading the word.  Photos will be added to the Wall of Honor on this site as well as to a traveling wall which will be used during commemorations of CBI events across the country.  Please use the link below to submit a photo.  Be sure to include full name, unit or area, and hometown.
